I Love Working From Home

For many people who are seeking freedom and control over their lives, but who work a conventional 9-5 type job, the job can be a barrier to their freedom. This is not always the case of course - lots of people have jobs they love, and enjoy the social interaction and other aspects. But for those of us who, like me, prefer to have complete control over how we spend our time, and the environment we spend it in, working from home is ideal.

One of my income sources is doing some copywriting and editing work, which I do from home. Earlier this week I had to spend a day in the office of the company I'm working for to sort out a new project - this was the first time I've been in an office in over a year, and it was something of a shock to the system! Even though it's a very nice, laid back kind of office, with very nice people, and if I had to do an office job, I'd rather be there than anywhere else I've ever worked, I was reminded quite forcefully of why I'd never want to go back to working that way permanently. I'm too fond of setting my own hours, taking a break to do something else when ever I want to, not having to get up at a certain time and battle rush hour traffic, etc.

All in all, that one day provided some great contrast (in Abraham terms!) that just amplified my existing desire for total freedom and control over my life. It has also inspired me to write an article for my website on the general fantastic-ness of working from home - will have it up by the weekend!
